Isn't it hilarious how humans willingly sign up for a lifetime subscription to âSharing Everythingâ˘â? Your room, your bed, your time, energy, finances, responsibilities heck, even your favorite snacks! And for what? Love? Companionship? Free Netflix access?
But hereâs the fun part: most people donât just wake up one day and say, âYou know what? I think Iâll merge my entire existence with someone else's today!â Nope. It usually happens when theyâre at their lowest, weakest, and most emotionally fragilelike a bad flu but for the heart. And just like how we rush to gulp down a painkiller for a headache, we subconsciously âopen a portâ (yes, like an incoming network port for feelings) and let another personâs energy plug right in.
The problem? Not all "emotional medications" come with a prescription. Some are miracle cures, and others? Well, letâs just say they shouldâve been recalled âyearsâ ago. Sure, relationships help us heal, but what if we just let nature do its thing? Our bodies already have built-in antibodies to fight off infections, and maybe just âmaybeâ our minds and hearts do too.
Yet, here we are, addicted to external emotional band-aids. We keep taking the âpainkillersâ (a.k.a. relationships) long after the wound has healed, turning into full-blown emotional junkies. Until one day, âboomâ we realize the healing we were desperately searching for in others was inside us all along. And that, my friends, is âthe absolute pleasureâ of self-discovery. đ well no offense! Cheers đĽ
PS: This isnât anti-love.This is pro-choice: love from wholeness, not from a dopamine debt.
